Shaksham Foundation’s Commitment to Orphaned and Abandoned Children
What can be more unfortunate for a child of deceased parents and there is no other relative capable or interested in caring for them? The series of misfortune strikes hard when the parents disown their children due to extreme poverty and other reasons. At Shaksham Foundation we do not like to call them “street children” primarily surviving by begging and sleeping under the open sky after eating scraps from dustbins.
The tiring eyes of a group of youngsters pushed them hard to find this NGO in Ahmedabad and begin our journey to found an anath ashram in Ahmedabad where we can offer immediate shelter to these little angels who have no one in literal terms. Later, we enrol them to our classes and try our best to educate the children.
For them, we run several programs among which healthcare programs and leftover food donation services hold special positions. We are thankful to the donors for the funds and our workers who successfully conduct the programs. With their aid, they help us feed more children at the orphanage in Ahmedabad and many other children belonging to the underprivileged communities dwelling in slums.

Programs by Shaksham Foundation
We run 3 free education centers where children attend classes, enjoy fun activities, and receive counseling to join government schools. Donors often visit to gift stationery and motivate the students. If you have a space in your area, we can start a free learning center there too. Let’s bring education to more children together!
